Orthokeratology lens originated in the United States, and has been used in 34 countries after 50 years of development. It has a special inverse geometry design and its inner surface is composed of several arc segments. As the lenses and tear layer are unevenly distributed, the resulting hydrodynamic effect will change the corneal geometry. If it’s worn in the front of the cornea during sleep, it will gradually flatten the corneal curvature and shorten the anteroposterior axis, thereby effectively preventing the development of myopia. It is also known as "a technology to control and correct myopia during sleep.
The orthokeratology lens inhibits the excessive growth of eyeball by reducing peripheral hyperopic defocus, thereby controlling the worsening of myopia.
